Footlite Musicals // Musical Theatre with Character // Indianapolis, Indiana

Sponsorship Information

Dear Patron of the Arts:

I am writing to you on behalf of Footlite Musicals to solicit program advertising for our all-volunteer theatre. Footlite Musicals was created in 1955 and in 1974 moved to its current home at the Hedback Theater at 19th and Alabama Streets, the previous home of Civic Theatre. The theater is unique in that we are the only one in the area that performs only musicals! We attract casts, staff, and audiences from a wide region of central Indiana.

Footlite Musicals is run completely by a volunteer board of directors and hundreds of volunteers. Membership is open; anyone can become a member. The members of the theater vote and select each year the musicals that will be performed. This makes Footlite Musicals truly a community theater that endeavors to meet the needs of its community.

Footlite Musicals' mission is to produce musicals, to offer an outlet for nonprofessional actors, singers, dancers, and musicians to perform. Footlite Musicals also provides education and training of persons in musical theater through practical experience, especially in its summer Young Adults and Artists programs.

Footlite has had great success over the years. In 1991, the theateris production of "Into the Woods" placed first in the National American Community Theater Association festival in Overland Park, Kansas. In 1992, the same production won six awards at the Toyama, International Amateur Theater Festival in Toyama, Japan. Also, a local organization that awards excellence in community theater, the Encore Awards, has honored the quality of Footlite's productions hundreds of times. Footlite Musicals hopes to continue this pursuit of excellence into the future and you can help!

A season ad covers seven shows: four main stage shows, one cabaret style show (smaller seating), and two summer shows by young people. The theater seats three hundred patrons; the four main stage productions run eight performances. Add the cabaret show and the two summer youth shows and the combined potential reach of your advertising for a season is over 13,000 patrons.

Please consider advertising within the Footlite Musicals' program as part of your yearly community advertising budget. I would be happy to talk with you further about these opportunities and can be reached at 255-3244.
