This classic “musical fable” returns to Footlite. This story of the ultimate stage mother, Rose Hovick, as she pushes her two daughters, June and Louise, towards fame and fortune in the 1920s and 1930s. They travel across the United States just as vaudeville is dying and burlesque is born. This Tony Award-nominated musical is based on the memoirs of famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. The show’s great score includes such classics as “Let Me Entertain You,” “Some People,” “You’ll Never Get Away from Me,” “If Momma Were Married,” All I Need is the Girl,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “You Gotta Get A Gimmick” and “Together Wherever We Go.” Directed by Tim Spradlin.
